Letter written to Gov. [Gouverneur] Morris expressing Arnold's disagreement with the decision of Congress to send an expedition of troops against Montreal. Because of the winter season, lack of provisions, and a strong Canadian garrison, he predicts the expedition will "miscarry". Marquete de Taillesse and General Conway are mentioned, also Captain Hazen and General Stark. He gives an opinion that the troops would have greater success if joined under General Washington to drive out William Howe. He criticizes Congress for being uninformed. Written in confidence from Albany, N.Y.
